Parasoft Releases Insure++ 7.0 for Novell SUSE LINUX Enterprise Server 9

First Memory Error Detection Solution to Support SUSE LINUX Now Available

February 16, 2005 – Boston (LinuxWorld) – Parasoft Corporation, a leading provider of solutions that automatically prevent software errors, announced the release of Insure++ 7.0 for the Novell SUSE® LINUX Enterprise Server 9 platform. As a Novell Silver Technology Partner, Parasoft developed this memory error detection solution to compliment Novell's Linux offerings for new and existing ISVs, IHVs and solutions provider partners.

The Premier Runtime Memory-testing Tool

Leveraging 17 years of software testing experience and several technology patents, Insure++ 7.0 is the first memory error detection tool to support SUSE LINUX Enterprise Server 9. Insure++ is an automated runtime application-testing tool designed to detect the elusive, often hidden errors or corruptions that affect the reliability and performance of applications. Its enhanced instrumentation engine makes discovery of hard-to-find memory-related errors that makes it faster than ever. Insure++ 7.0 is the only memory detection tool supporting 64 bit development platforms from Intel and AMD.

Award-winning SUSE LINUX Platform

“Runtime memory error detection remains a crucial part of software development. With the market increasing its adoption of the SUSE LINUX Enterprise Server, Novell partners gain another new development tool to develop robust Linux solutions,” said Chris Cooper, director, Novell Developer Services, at Novell, Inc.

SUSE LINUX software developers can now utilize Insure++, a comprehensive runtime application-testing tool, to detect elusive errors such as memory corruption, memory leaks, memory allocation errors, variable initialization errors, variable definition conflicts, pointer errors, library errors, I/O errors and logic errors.

“Year after year Insure continues to be the leading memory leak detection solution that finds the most elusive memory errors. We want to be ready to meet the needs of SUSE LINUX Enterprise Server software developers with this comprehensive memory testing tool," said Wayne Ariola, vice president, corporate development, at Parasoft. “As an industry leader in software testing, we are pleased to be the first provider to deliver a memory error detection solution in partnership with Novell.”

Availability

Insure++ is available for Linux, Windows, Solaris, HPUX and AIX. The Linux support includes AMD Opteron64 and Intel EM64T 64 bit processors. For more information visit: http://www.parasoft.com/jsp/products/insure.jsp

About Insure++

Insure++ is an automatic runtime-testing solution that detects hard-to-find errors such as memory corruption, memory leaks, memory allocation errors, variable initialization errors, variable definition conflicts, pointer errors, library errors, and logic errors. By building a database of program elements and then checking values against it, Insure++ is able to achieve the deepest possible understanding of the code under test and flush out even the most hidden defects in C and C++ code.
