Parasoft C/C++test Delivers Full Support for MISRA C++:2023 TC1 on Day One

Complete support for the latest MISRA C++:2023 corrections and clarifications helps embedded development teams keep compliance analysis current.

MONROVIA, Calif. — Tuesday, September 15 — Parasoft, a global leader in automated software testing for safety- and security-critical software, today announced that Parasoft C/C++test fully supports MISRA C++:2023 Technical Corrigenda 1 (TC1:2026). Available now, the complete support enables embedded development teams to apply the latest corrected and clarified MISRA C++ guidance directly within their existing static analysis and compliance workflows.

MISRA C++:2023 TC1 addresses issues identified since publication of the guidelines. While some changes correct examples and terminology, others affect how rules should be interpreted and enforced, including changes to exceptions, analysis scope, and the classification of compliant and non-compliant code.

For example, TC1 adds an exception permitting controlling expressions resulting from the assert macro and clarifies the treatment of necessary writes, feasible execution paths, and [[maybe_unused]]. It also updates guidance for modern C++ constructs and practices, including templates, numeric conversions, memory management, moved-from objects, and the curiously recurring template pattern (CRTP). Specifically, the CRTP change addresses a case in which the original rule unreasonably prohibited use of the pattern.
