Parasoft Showcases New Unit Test Assistant at Java One

09.26.2017

New release of Parasoft Jtest brings automation to unit test creation and expands support for Java developers to include Spring Boot, PowerMock, and latest release of Eclipse

Parasoft, the leading provider of automated software testing solutions, announced today the newest release of Parasoft Jtest, including the next-generation Unit Test Assistant (UTA) for Java, which empowers software developers to more efficiently create and maintain meaningful and robust JUnit unit tests with guided test creation.

The release also includes expanded capabilities for Spring Developers, with support for Spring Boot along with annotation and xml based Spring configurations. In addition, mocking support has been extended to include PowerMock (in addition to Mockito), enabling more flexibility when isolating the code under test. Parasoft will be demonstrating the new features at Java One in San Francisco at Booth #6142.

UTA, which was released earlier this year, assists developers with the extremely tedious task of creating, maintaining, and scaling new and existing JUnit unit tests, enabling teams to reduce the time and learning curve required to create and maintain effective test suites.

  • In this release, new features and enhancements to UTA include: Extended support for Spring developers:
    • Spring Boot support
    • XML + annotation based Spring configurations
  • Extended mocking support with PowerMock for mocking static invocations and constructors
  • Support for the latest version of Eclipse and Oxygen

“With this release of Jtest, we continue to move forward in a new era of guided test creation, to help developers accelerate unit testing of complex Java applications, while saving some headaches along the way,” said Mark Lambert, VP of Products at Parasoft. “Parasoft has been a pioneer in supporting developers since the early days of Java, and we are committed to continue to innovate within the Jtest product as the language and community evolves.”

The new release of Parasoft Jtest is currently available. A live webinar to showcase these exciting additions to the product will take place on September 28th at 11am EST. To learn more about UTA, read Lambert’s recent blog post, or simply request a demo.
