ACI Informatica Cuts API Test Creation Time in Half With AI-Augmented Solution

The Challenge

ACI Informatica developed a new application for ACI for the management of Regional Motor Vehicle Taxes (NSTAR). The team develops the application in modules. These modules interact with each other and connect through the web interface. Some of the main ones include:

With an objective to develop and release all of its software with comprehensive testing coverage, the development team knew they must improve their test suite with every possible scenario to ensure the software could handle anything.

The challenge was maintaining coverage while improving the test suite with new scenarios and features—even during future software upgrades.

The Approach

The previous testing automation process involved the use of some market tools and a manual functional testing process. ACI Informatica identified the need to expand and extend the scope of testing. The team’s initial requirements included the following:

• Complete testing coverage on all use cases during the development of the tax calculation software.
