Functional Safety Compliance

Conquer Cumbersome Functional Safety Compliance Standards

Comprehensive Testing for Functional Safety Compliance

When you’re developing software for industries where safety comes first, your code must be audited so it can comply with a range of compliance standards: ISO 26262, DO-178C, IEC 61508, IEC 62304, or EN 50128. Parasoft’s automated testing tools reduce the difficult and tedious work associated with ensuring code compliance.

Easily Satisfy Audits for Functional Safety Compliance

Use One Powerful Toolset

Parasoft’s complete set of testing capabilities (static analysis, unit testing, code coverage) ensures full compliance without vendor hopping or introducing a steep learning curve.

Simplify Compliance Audits

Don’t waste time manually generating necessary compliance documents. Parasoft’s tools automatically create these documents for you and update them as the code changes.

Cut Auditing Costs

Auditing for functional safety compliance standards can be expensive, sometimes even more so than code development. Automated testing from Parasoft makes it less so.

Embrace Change

The list of compliance standards for software is long. Worse, it keeps changing. Parasoft keeps up with coding standards like MISRA C/C++ and AUTOSAR C++14 as they evolve, so you don’t have to.

Simplify Qualification Procedures

Testing tools must be qualified before use for functional safety compliance. Parasoft tools are TÜV SÜD-certified for ISO 26262, IEC 62304, EN 50128, and IEC 61508, eliminating the need for qualification. In addition, Parasoft provides an automated qualification kit for DO-178C and as needed for higher-level ASIL requirements of ISO 26262.

Test on Host or Target Hardware

Do not postpone testing until your hardware is ready. Parasoft C/C++test allows you to execute your tests on simulators before your hardware is available and easily move your tests to the target once it is ready. You can use a stubbing framework to simulate difficult-to-access hardware components.

Functional Safety Compliance Tools

Provides development teams everything they need to ensure functional safety compliance of embedded C and C++ applications.
Complies with standards: ISO 26262, DO-178C, IEC 61508, IEC 62304, and EN 50128. Parasoft C/C++test is certified by TÜV SÜD.

Parasoft’s reporting and analytics dashboard gives you greater transparency into the compliance and audit process. Its dynamic and configurable dashboards tell you the state of your testing practice and extent of your test coverage at a glance. You can also easily identify which compliance standards are lagging behind so teams can focus efforts accordingly.

Where Is Functional Safety Compliance Used?

While most industries are concerned about quality, functional safety is especially important in industries where human life is at risk and failure is not an option.

Automotive

The dizzying number of embedded systems in a vehicle all run on software. The advent of autonomous and vehicle-to-vehicle communication with 5G are going to accelerate software development in the industry. When software drives a car, unnecessary risks have to be eliminated. Functional safety compliance standards are a requirement to ensure all systems are safe, secure, and ready to go.

Medical Devices

Software is the beating heart of practically every medical device. Such embedded systems need fool-proof code and must meet stringent safety and security requirements. Functional safety compliance ensures the health of such patient-critical technology.

Civil Aviation

The civil aviation industry complies with safety-critical standards as millions of lives are at risk from these complex and extensive software programs. Functional safety compliance will only get more stringent as avionic systems evolve and new fleet lines are introduced.

Rail

Rail software systems are complex, connected, and need to be safe. The industry can’t afford to apply the brakes on innovation and needs to bring functional safety on board. Functional safety compliance tools ensure it does.

Industrial Automation

Industrial machinery, the oil and gas industry, and nuclear power plants all rely on programmable electronic systems that make split-second decisions on machine failure. These systems need to be safe, secure, and compliant with functional safety standards.

Military & Defense

Software powers machines and devices that deliver success to the warfighter mission. Whether deployed in action or used to relay intelligence, military software needs to be safe and secure and comply with functional safety standards.
